Founder and designer-maker behind beCHARLO Jewellery
Jeweller, maker and workshop tutor based on the Isle of Wight.
I create handcrafted jewellery inspired by coast, memory, place and personal connection.
Working primarily in recycled silver and gold, I design and make jewellery that celebrates stories, marks milestones and carries meaning.
Whether it’s a bespoke commission, a remodel of a treasured heirloom or a piece chosen simply because it feels right, I hope each piece becomes something that’s worn, treasured and woven into a person’s story.
Every piece is created from my Isle of Wight studio, where traditional goldsmithing techniques meet a love of storytelling, craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
MY STORY
It all began with a silver bangle.
When I was 14, I was gifted the first of many silver bangles, a simple gift that sparked a fascination with jewellery and the stories it can hold. What started as curiosity grew into a passion and over the years I’ve developed my skills from learning the basics to designing and creating my own pieces at the bench.
There’s still something incredibly satisfying about watching an idea evolve from a sketch into a finished piece of jewellery. Seeing a design come to life through making never loses its magic.
Today, I work as a jeweller, maker and workshop tutor on the Isle of Wight, creating handcrafted silver and gold jewellery inspired by coast, memory, place and personal connection.
What I love most about jewellery is its ability to hold meaning. A piece can celebrate a milestone, honour a loved one, capture a memory or become part of a family’s story for generations to come. Creating jewellery that carries that significance is what continues to inspire me every day.
