Contemporary Jewellery: Material, Form & Connection

Explore material, shape and texture in this hands-on contemporary jewellery workshop.

Working with metal alongside reclaimed and repurposed materials, you’ll experiment with composition and learn how contrasting materials can be brought together using cold connections.

Cold connections are jewellery-making techniques that join materials without soldering. Using rivets, tabs and other simple joining methods allows you to combine materials that may not withstand heat, opening up a wide range of creative possibilities.

You’ll be guided through each stage, from developing your initial ideas to cutting, filing, texturing, assembling and finishing your chosen design.

Choose to create a pendant, a pair of earrings or a brooch that reflects your own ideas and approach to making.

No previous jewellery-making experience is required.
