Each shell begins as a hand-carved wax before being individually cast in recycled sterling silver, hallmarked by the London Assay Office and carefully hand-finished in the beCHARLO studio, the larger shell creates a bold sculptural statement while preserving the natural character and texture of the original carving.
Suspended from an 18-inch natural stone beaded necklace with a sterling silver carabiner clasp, the design brings together traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary coastal aesthetic. Available in either Rainbow Natural Stones or Rose Quartz, each necklace offers its own distinctive character while allowing the handcrafted shell to remain the focal point.
The radiating lines of the scallop shell have long been associated with journeys, protection and safe return. Reimagined in silver, the design reflects the textures, movement and enduring beauty of the coastline that inspires every beCHARLO collection.
Only five large necklaces have been created as part of this collection.

The sculptural silver form was created using the water-casting process, where molten silver is poured directly into water and cools instantly, forming organic shapes and textures that can never be exactly replicated. The resulting form captures a fleeting moment of movement, preserved forever in precious metal.
At its centre sits a striking Pear set London Blue Topaz, nestled within a handcrafted 9ct gold pebble setting and a deeper Topaz set alongside. Inspired by pebbles smoothed by tide and time, the warm gold setting creates a beautiful contrast against the cool silver and deep ocean-blue gemstone.
Combining the unpredictability of water-casting with traditional goldsmithing techniques, this pendant is entirely unique. No two castings can ever be exactly the same, making it a true one-of-a-kind piece.

Inspired by the colours, textures and hidden treasures found within coastal rock pools, this one-of-a-kind necklace celebrates the meeting of water, movement and precious materials.
Created using the water-casting process, molten silver is poured directly into water, where it cools instantly to form organic shapes and textures that can never be exactly replicated. The resulting sculptural forms capture fleeting moments of movement, preserving the unpredictability and beauty of water in precious metal.
At the heart of the necklace sits a 4mm London Blue Topaz, secured within a handcrafted 9ct gold claw setting. Its rich ocean-blue colour evokes deeper waters and shifting tides, creating a striking focal point within the design.
A second aquamarine is nestled within a handcrafted 9ct gold pebble setting, inspired by pebbles shaped and softened by years of movement, tide and time. The contrast between the warm gold settings, cool silver forms and vibrant gemstones creates a piece rich in depth, texture and visual interest.
